A serious road accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. today on “Ruski” Blvd. , near the intersection with "Sixth of September" Blvd. in Plovdiv, reported NOVA. Emergency teams, the police and the fire department were dispatched to the scene.
According to initial information, a jeep coming from the Central Station entered the bike lane between the two lanes and hit several plane trees one after the other. The impact split the car in two. The front part crashed into one of the trees, and the rear part flew out onto the roadway. The 21-year-old driver and a 20-year-old female passenger next to him were pronounced dead on the spot. A 22-year-old boy and a girl who were traveling in the back seat were taken to hospital with life-threatening conditions.
Meanwhile, emergency medical assistance was provided to a seriously injured employee of the RDPBZN - Plovdiv, who was hit by a tree branch during the rescue operation. An inspection of the scene is underway. Until its completion, traffic is stopped in both directions on “Ruski” Blvd., in the section between “Preslav” and “September 6th” Blvd. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case, the reasons and circumstances that led to the serious accident are being investigated.
