The Ministry of Education and Science will present the annual awards for contribution to science “Pythagoras”, dariknews.bg reported.
The ceremony will be opened by the Minister of Education and Science, Galin Tsokov, and among the guests are some of our most prominent scientists, rectors of higher schools, representatives of the local and executive authorities, etc.
45 scientists applied for this year's competition.
The awards are presented for the 16th year in a row, and the jury includes only distinguished scientists. This year, it was composed by the award-winning “Pythagoras“ in the previous year. Among them are Prof. Dr. Todor Dudev, Ph.D. from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski“, member-cor. Prof. Stoicho Yazadzhiev, MD from SU, Assoc. Dr. Angel Jambov from Medical University – Plovdiv, Prof. Dr. Pepka Boyadzhieva, PhD in the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology – BAS, Dr. Diana Cholakova from SU, Assoc. Dr. Yordan Georgiev from University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov“ in Burgas, Prof. Dr. James Iolovski – Graduate School of Insurance and Finance – Sofia and Assistant Dr. Alexander Sirakov – Medical University – Sofia.
The awards will be presented in 8 categories, and this year a special award for science communication will be given for the first time.
