A 40-year-old man wanted by the Turkish authorities has been detained in Sofia.
The operation of the General Directorate “National Police” was implemented yesterday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports on its website.
The 40-year-old man wanted by the Turkish authorities was located in a hotel in the center of the capital, where he was subsequently detained. The man is wanted with a red notice issued by Interpol, Ankara.
He has an effective sentence of “imprisonment” for a period of 10 years for a crime committed on the territory of Turkey, according to the Ministry of the Interior.
In this case, the "International Operational Cooperation" Directorate was notified; - the Ministry of the Interior, and the competent prosecutor's office for follow-up actions on his extradition.
A few days ago, an American citizen was detained in Blagoevgrad, declared an international wanted person with an Interpol - Washington red notice. He was arrested at the request of the competent US judicial authorities.
