The increase of the prices of some basic foodstuffs, fruits and vegetables on the exchanges in the country continues this week, reports the State Commission on Commodity Exchanges and Markets (DKSBT) in its weekly bulletin.
The market price index (MPI), which reflects the movement of wholesale food prices in our country, rose by 1.37 percent to 2,140 points during the week. Last week the ITC was at the level of 2,111 points. The base level of ITC - 1,000 points, is from 2005
Cucumbers are becoming cheaper, with imported ones dropping by 9 percent to BGN 2.13 per kilogram, and greenhouse cucumbers by 4.8 percent to BGN 2.80 per kilogram. The price of greenhouse tomatoes is also lower - by 17 percent to BGN 2.97 per kilogram, as well as potatoes - by 4.6 percent to BGN 1.44 per kilogram.
Carrots rose in price by 10.9 percent to BGN 1.32 per kilogram, and ripe onions (import) - by 12 percent to BGN 1.77 per kilogram. Cabbage continues to become cheaper this week as well, with its price reaching BGN 0.88 per kilogram, which is 10.2 percent down.
Imported apples are more expensive by 8.1 percent to BGN 1.74 per kilogram, while lemons keep their price and are traded at BGN 2.38 per kilogram. Bananas fell by 2.6 percent to BGN 2.67 per kilogram, and strawberries (import) - by 4.9 percent to BGN 4.06 per kilogram. The price of oranges is higher by 4 percent to BGN 1.84 per kilogram.
Cow cheese went up in price by 2.1 percent to BGN 10.96 per kilogram, and "Vitosha" cheese - by 1.6 percent to BGN 17.18 per kilogram.
The price of yogurt (3 and over 3 percent fat content) fell by 0.9 percent and is bought at BGN 1.16 for a bucket of 400 grams, while fresh milk (3 percent fat content) went up by BGN 2. 6 percent to BGN 2.33 per liter.
Chicken meat becomes cheaper by 0.8 percent and is available at BGN 6.60 per kilogram, and eggs (size M) – by 3.2 percent and are bought at BGN 0.30 per piece wholesale.
The price of rice fell by 0.9 percent to BGN 3.25 per kilogram, and that of lentils jumped by 0.9 percent to BGN 4.32 per kilogram. Ripe beans also saw an increase in price by 0.5 percent to BGN 4.16 per kilogram.
Sugar fell by 3.5 percent and was traded at BGN 1.93 per kilogram, while oil rose in price by 1.5 percent to BGN 2.73 per liter. The price of type 500 flour went up by 1.5 percent to BGN 1.32 per kilogram, while that of cow's butter (125 gram package) was 4.1 percent lower to BGN 2.59 per piece.
