The NSO has sent to the media an official refutation of a news story circulating in print and online media, which claims that there was an accident with the armored car car with which Rumen Radev was transported. According to the publications, the vehicle in question is being repaired secretly, and the NSO deliberately kept everything a secret.
What the NSOs say:
"On the occasion of false statements published in a metropolitan weekly and republished in online information publications, the National Security Service states the following:
Allegations of an accident involving an armored Mercedes-Benz of the Service are a lie! The claims that the Office kept one silent are also lies.
None of the armored cars currently operated by the National Security Service, including the three newly acquired high-class Mercedes-Benz used for specialized transport of the President, the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Prime Minister, did not suffer an accident.
We remind you that the cars acquired by the National Security Service, as well as all other assets of the Office, are not intended for a specific protected person, but are used as appropriate.
The National Guard appeals to media workers who claim to be journalists to adhere to their ethical professional rules. Those who do not have such, or do not claim to be journalists, we urge not to circulate unverified and frankly false information about the National Security Service and which false information directly or indirectly takes speculative advantage of the name of the institution for political purposes in an election situation.
NSO is always ready to provide any information about its activities that does not violate the legal norms for the protection of classified information, as it has done so far."
