GDBOP stopped websites violating copyrights, the Ministry of the Interior announced. The inspection was conducted in Shumen in coordination with Europol, under the direction of the prosecutor's office.
Employees of the "Cybercrime" Directorate – GDBOP, together with their colleagues from Shumen, conducted an operation to prevent illegal use of video materials as objects of copyright and related rights through three Internet sites. The action was carried out on May 27 and 28 under the leadership of the District Prosecutor's Office – Noisy.
The operation was carried out in coordination with Europol within the framework of EMPACT - the program for multidisciplinary and multi-departmental operational cooperation to fight organized crime at the EU level and with a priority activity of fighting and destroying criminal networks of individual entrepreneurs involved in crimes against intellectual property .
In the course of it, the owners of the sites were established, who created and maintained them with the aim of offering their users access to popular films, series, television productions whose rights holders are Bulgarian television operators.
