Mihail Nedelchev: The RSM are afraid that Talev's house will become a new center of Bulgarianism

I believe that the Minister of Culture will see things through

The question of buying Dimitar Talev's house in Prilep was raised by the -different countries. Willingness was expressed, money was collected, but when the state intervened, things went very slowly. I believe in the current intentions of the caretaker government and Minister Nayden Todorov, who will see things through.

This is what the literary critic and historian Prof. Mihail Nedelchev told FOCUS.

A decision to acquire the house of Dimitar Talev by the Bulgarian state was made already in June 2023. According to Prof. Nedelchev, the case with the property will find permission from the official government of Dimitar Glavchev. "I believe in Minister Nayden Todorov, whom I know well and who is a good person and does not abandon his causes,” said Prof. Nedelchev.

He noted that 1/3 of the property is owned by an unknown owner who refuses to sell his share to the Bulgarian state. The owner of the other 2/3 has expressed readiness for this. "It is very important that the government does not stop at the fact that this 1/3 is currently giving up. This 2/3 must be acquired. There is no need to wait for the Bulgarian state to take full possession of the house. This could block things for years”, the historian believes.

The director of the cultural center in Skopje has neither the means nor the authority to buy the property. This should be done either with a private initiative or through the state, comments Prof. Mihail Nedelchev. "If the state buys the house, it will make a museum.

In my opinion, the great fear of our cousins from Macedonia is that this will become a new center of Bulgarianism in the city of Prilep. There are similar concerns in the city of Struga. A long time ago, the museum of the Miladino brothers was almost always closed, as was Grigor Perlichev's house, as well as Simeon Radev's house in Resen“, added the historian.
