The first ranking for the admission of students in the first grade for the 2024/2025 school year was held today, the Metropolitan Municipality announced on its website. A total of 10,873 children applied for first grade in 158 capital schools for 11,551 available places. Last school year, 10,876 children applied for 11,631 places.
10,228 students were ranked first. Of these, 9,072 are ranked by first preference, the remaining 1,156 by second or lower preference.

The remaining free places are 1323, and the unclassified children are a total of 645.
The most unclassified children are in the “Vitosha” - 164. This number includes children who are not classified in the first, second and third groups. This statistic is similar to the statistics on the shortage of places in kindergartens and nurseries. Which clearly shows the lack of any planning in the past, the municipality points out.

The Metropolitan Municipality continues to work together with the districts and schools where cases arise, to find short-term and long-term solutions to the problems, including construction and expansion of the building fund.
Parents whose children have been accepted have the opportunity to enroll them from June 4 until 5:00 pm on June 13.

The next rankings will be held on June 14th, June 21st and June 26th. Enrollment after these rankings starts from the day after the ranking according to the announced schedule in the system. Exceptions are the days when the National External Assessment for seventh grade takes place – June 19 and June 21, informed by the Metropolitan Municipality.
