A day after the PP-DB coalition convened an extraordinary meeting of the National Assembly in order to make a decision to oblige the Parliament to oblige the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance Fund to take action to update the amount of the basic salaries of doctors, nurses and paramedics, the Acting Minister of Health convened the Sectoral Council for Tripartite Cooperation in Health Care to discuss the conclusion of a new Collective Labor Agreement for doctors.
This is what they say in their official position from "We continue the change - Democratic Bulgaria", on the occasion of today's meeting at the Ministry of Health of Minister Kondeva with the Branch Council for Tripartite Cooperation in Health Care.

Here is more from the PP-DB position:

Yesterday's meeting was boycotted by GERB and DPS.

The health mafia, tied to them, has an interest in the state hospitals not being able to provide a decent salary for the Bulgarian specialists, and this is evident once again.

Today's tripartite meeting is nothing but dust in people's eyes, kicking the ball and trying to put out a fire until the elections are over.

Bulgaria lacks more than 17,000 nurses, and every year we lose another 1,000 who go to work in Europe or retire. The reason is clear - the low salaries that hospitals pay. This tragic trend has a very bad effect on the quality of healthcare. The manager of the health fund, Momchil Mavrov - appointed by GERB despite the objections of PP-DB, had decided not to impose penalties on hospitals that pay less than BGN 1,500 per month for a nurse and BGN 2,000 for a young doctor. In practice, this gave the medical facilities the opportunity to maintain low personnel costs and, accordingly, high profits.

„We continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria” we have a working plan for the health sector. A decisive policy to increase the pay of health professionals is a key part of it. Our goal is that their minimum salaries become at least 80% of the national average, and that the starting salary for a young doctor is equal to the national average.

The Bulgarian Medical Union also accepted the proposal of PP-DB that the basic salaries of doctors be tied to the average salary for the country. This is what the chairman of the organization, Ivan Madzharov, told journalists.

We will not leave the medical specialists and patients in the state of free fall of the Bulgarian health care and this topic will be one of the first after the formation of the new National Assembly that we will raise.
