An investigation is underway, but this does not prevent Dimitar Frantisek from being posted to Smolyan for three months

The order for the posting was issued by prosecutor #1

The prosecutor from the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office (SGP) Dimitar Frantisek Petrov was posted for three months in the district prosecutor's office in Smolyan. The secondment is at the request of the district prosecutor of the city and is motivated by the need for staffing. Dimitar Petrov's secondment is from July 22, 2024, as he is on leave until then. He will stay in Smolyan until October 22, 2024.

This was revealed by Lex.bg.

By law, a judge, prosecutor or investigator can be seconded if necessary for no more than 12 months with his prior written consent. In exceptional cases, however, he may be posted without his consent for a maximum of three months.

There are four vacancies in RP-Smolyan – three for prosecutors and one for a junior prosecutor, with a total staff of 11.

Petrov, who was the head of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office, and after its closure was reassigned to the SGP, is currently being checked by the Inspectorate of the Supreme Prosecutor's Office. The audit includes all of Petrov's cases over the past three years. It was ordered by I.F. chief prosecutor Borislav Sarafov after the arrest and indictment of TV producer Niko Tuparev.

The order for the secondment of Dimitar Frantisek was issued by prosecutor No. 1, and the Committee on Attestation and Competitions of the Prosecutor's College gave a positive opinion.
