The deputies rejected the proposal in the Rules of Procedure and Organization of the National Assembly to state that during the pre-election campaign the people's representatives will not receive salaries and will not to be able to use official cars of the parliament.
It was made by three MPs from the disbanded group of "Majesty" - Victoria Vasileva, Juliana Mateeva and Nikolay Markov - and rejected with 66 votes against and 86 abstentions. It received support from only 27 people's representatives - from the DPS and 9 independents, the BNR specified.
There was no debate in the plenary hall, but in the Temporary Commission, which drafted the Rules, it was pointed out that the non-receipt of remuneration would be unconstitutional, since according to the latest amendments to the Basic Law, it is indicated that the work of the National Assembly is continuous.
