"In Bulgaria, the conditions are ripe for the UDS - second generation, for a coalition that can attract a strong citizen vote and which can then make an adequate request for management", believes Hristanov

Now is the time to go to quick elections, so that we can hold them in a political space weakened for the DPS.

This opinion was expressed to the BNR by Ivan Hristanov, leader of the "Edinenie" party. He commented on PP-DB's request that the president postpone the handing over of the mandate for 2 months, with the idea that during that time the parliament would pass important laws.

However, according to Hristanov, the political leader who will benefit most from such a postponement of the elections is Delyan Peevski. He will have time to regroup, he explained.

"DPS is currently in bulk. If we go to a snap election now, it will be the first election since 1991 where the DPS is on the loose and we can take advantage of that. When I see PP-DB push through one thing that suits Peevski above all, I worry. A similar action will buy vital time for Peevski to sort out his DPS.

This is a great chance and under no circumstances should there be a delay, the leader of "Edinenie" was categorical.
He further asked:

"Have they made a commitment that there will be no summer recess of Parliament in August? Without such a commitment, confirmed by all the political forces that can form the necessary majorities to pass these laws, such a request looks to me like a beautiful field full of watermelons, melons, pumpkins - ripe, go in and eat, but in it a hoe sticks out and they run towards it, hurrying to step on it and hit them in the foreheads once more. They have been delegitimizing Radev for a year already and now suddenly they need Radev. If there is no commitment that work will be done in August, such a request seems strange.
"In this political dynamic, in this political menagerie that we are in, the only way, firstly, to change the relationship in the parliament to something more favorable and to really show vitality, we need a strong coalition led of people who have proven themselves in these challenging battles, including against Delyan Peevski and Boyko Borisov", commented Ivan Hristanov, emphasizing that they are currently writing coalition agreements. We are talking with "Green Movement", "We are coming", but not with "Blue Bulgaria", he added and explained that there are "too many people who belong to a past that Bulgaria does not like". Colleagues from the PP-DB at the regional and local level are looking for us to join "Edinenie", the leader of "Edinenie" also noted.

"In Bulgaria, the conditions are ripe for the UDS - the second generation, for a coalition that can attract a strong citizen's vote and which can then make an adequate request for governance,'' believes Hristanov.
