„Under the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, we have received a response from Spain, which has the capability and will send two aircraft, each with a capacity of about 6 tons. We have confirmation that by the end of today the aircraft will arrive and probably will be included in the extinguishing as early as tomorrow. This was announced by the Minister of the Interior, Kalin Stoyanov, quoted by Nova TV.
He pointed out that the fire situation remains dynamic in the area of the Yambol villages. “We are starting to contain one of the fronts, but the temperature remains high, and there is a strong wind. In places, the fire is still developing at its peak, which makes it difficult for us. For this reason, today we are working here with 4 helicopters – of the Ministry of Defense and those sent from the Czech Republic”, said Stoyanov and confirmed that the situation in the area of the village of Golyam Manastir is currently under control.
„There is no danger for the people, the villages are secured, we are working around them with heavy equipment, we are making clearings to prevent the fire from entering the populated areas. On one of the fronts of the fire, which affected Krainovo, Strandzha, Golyam Dervent and Voden, we are working together with our colleagues from Turkey. There is no danger to people, there is a lot of equipment, the minister also pointed out.
„The most important thing is that there are no victims or injured, except for two firefighters who are on the ground again”, the interior minister stressed, and pointed out the possibilities for assisting those affected through the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and through The interdepartmental commission for recovery and assistance after the local administration describes the damage. Today, two residents of the village of Voden, who suffered the most from the natural disaster, will be provided with fully equipped vans in which to take shelter.
