This is stated in an official position of the Executive Bureau of the City Council of BSP - Sofia. "We consider inadmissible the attempts by the People's Representative from the PP-DB Atanas Atanasov to make fun of the name and activities of Georgi Yordanov in connection with the proposal of the Council of Ministers to award him with the highest state award, the Order of Stara Planina, first degree, on the occasion of his 90th anniversary and for his exceptional merits for the development of Bulgarian culture, it is also said in the position of the capital's socialists.
In the 80s and 90s of the last century, as a member of leading party and state structures and as a long-term representative of the people, he devoted his energies to the development of Bulgarian culture and art. It is to his credit that our best opera and folklore performers, theater troupes, children's choirs, musical ensembles tour all over the world, and in our country, ensembles of the rank of the London Royal Theater and the Japanese Imperial Theater participate in international theater festivals. The tours of our National Theater in the USA cause a real sensation, and to this day the bas-relief on Broadway with the name of the great Lubomir Kabakchiev has been preserved.
The members of the Executive Bureau of the BSP - Sofia also note in their position that Georgi Yordanov is inseparably connected with the socio-economic development of the capital and as the head of the City Party Organization he contributes to the accelerated development of the capital's industry and scientific potential. "At the moment, Georgi Yordanov, who left politics long ago, lives with the problems of Bulgarian culture, writes journalism, publishes books. The efforts of the yellow-clad anti-communists to spit on the statesman and emblematic creator of Bulgarian culture, Georgi Yordanov, are pitiful and futile, the position of the capital's socialists also states.

The Executive Bureau of the City Council of BSP - Sofia considers as unacceptable the attempts by the People's Representative from PP-DB Atanas Atanasov to make fun of the name and activities of Georgi Yordanov in connection with the proposal of the Council of Ministers to award him with the most the high state award "Stara Planina" order, first degree, on the occasion of his 90th anniversary and for his outstanding services to the development of Bulgarian culture.

With the support of statesman Georgi Yordanov, our film art, school music and dance ensembles, children's orchestras and choirs are rapidly developing, community centers throughout the country are flourishing, and creative unions are flourishing.
In connection with the 1300th anniversary of Bulgaria, the National Palace of Culture, numerous monuments, the "Bells" children's complex were built; children from all over the world gather in Bulgaria to sing and dance together. The merits of Georgi Yordanov for the study and preservation of the Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage, for its promotion to the world, are enormous.
