„I probably won't surprise anyone with what I'm going to say, because I've been repeating it for 7 years – adamantly, relentlessly, despite all resistance, I have repeated two sentences, probably more than 100 times, and they are: Do not touch the children! Hands down from the Bulgarian children!“.
This was stated by the People's Representative from the “BSP for Bulgaria” Cornelia Ninova from the parliamentary rostrum today during a debate on changes and additions to the Law on School and Preschool Education.
The retired leader of the BSP recalled the battle of the socialists in the protection of children: “It all started in 2017 with the attempt of GERB to introduce ratification of the Istanbul Convention in the Bulgarian Parliament. I am proud of the fact that then the PG of “BSP for Bulgaria” stopped this ratification and the possibility of the Istanbul Convention becoming part of the Bulgarian legislation. It turned out that we were right, because later the Constitutional Court declared it unconstitutional, the Bulgarian church, the Muslim denomination and everyone else in Bulgaria expressed a categorically negative position”, said Cornelia Ninova.
In her words, in those years it was almost a crime to oppose the Istanbul Convention: “ Labels were being attached: anti-Europeans, homophobes, etc. This did not stop us, because we are convinced that, apart from man and woman, there cannot be a third social gender, dictated not by what you were born into, but by what social role you choose in society. In the morning you can be one, at lunchtime another, in the evening a third, and so in 7 years we have reached 48 different forms of gender, apart from male and female,“, Ninova pointed out.
„I think this is a perversion of nature, of Christian values, of family values. From my personal experience in these long-term battles with gender ideology, I tell you that it is preached by very powerful people, very rich people, very influential people, that it is creeping and sooner or later it will take over Bulgarian schools. I have repeatedly warned about this and we have always met resistance with all kinds of insane arguments, mostly even ideological, liberal ones. To get to Eurovision, to the Olympics in Paris and what we see in the modern world. Do you agree with this?“, Cornelia Ninova addressed the deputies.
She also said: “From my personal experience in these battles, I met many families, hard fates, of Bulgarian families whose children abroad are subjected to hormone therapy without their parents knowing, or of Bulgarian families who force them to they bring their boys to school in women's clothes for 3 days to get used to the fact that they might be some other gender. Yes, that's a fact. Do you have children? Do you have grandchildren, do you want this to happen in your family? Today, vote for the Bulgarian children, for all children, thinking about your own," urged the People's Representative from the "BSP for Bulgaria".
„And I heard that this was a preventive measure, that there was no such thing in Bulgaria. Do you really think so or is it just posturing and a cliché to be uttered from this rostrum? I will tell you the opposite - for all these 7 years, during which I have been waging both a personal and a party battle with this ideology, I have seen cases of propaganda of this ideology in Bulgarian kindergartens, in Bulgarian schools, in Bulgarian high schools. Several times from this stand I have shown you the facts and the evidence. I will do it today as well, in order to convince, I hope, all of you to vote in support of banning sexually diverse education and propaganda in Bulgarian schools”, pointed out Kornelia Ninova and showed the people's representatives a booklet distributed in a Bulgarian school:
„This is “Sexual Health for Lesbian and Bisexual Women” in a Bulgarian high school, in the doctor's office of the Bulgarian high school and it is provided to the children to learn how to have sex between lesbian and bisexual women. I'm almost embarrassed – i will only read the titles: oral sex, tribadism, fingering, fisting, etc. sexual practices between lesbians in schools. All this happens in the Bulgarian project school. “Rainbow Hub“ is implemented with the financial support provided by three European countries under the financial mechanism of the European Economic Area. The main goal of the “Rainbow Hub” is the empowerment of the LGBTI community to implement advocacy activities among individuals. Money is being thrown to educate the children of what I read to you – "The LGBTI community should do advocacy activities among Bulgarian children," said Kornelia Ninova.
She was adamant that in this cause BSP have always professed that a person over 18 years old is big enough, mature and free to decide how to live his life. But children are another thing.
In response to GERB's reply for more specifics, the resigned leader of the BSP stated: “The countries from which I have correspondence with Bulgarian families are England, Spain and the USA, at least so far. There are probably others. As for the contents of this thing – I cannot read it because I am a woman, a mother, and I cannot read from the rostrum of the National Assembly what I define as a shame and disgrace for Bulgarian schools," said Cornelia Ninova and turned to Georg Georgiev:
„Next time, if necessary, I will do multimedia, Mr. Georgiev. By the way, you recently became a parent – how were you listed on the birth certificate: Parent 1 or Parent 2? Or did it say father? I will say again: I will not read such a perversion from the rostrum of the National Assembly. Read it on social networks where I will post everything”.
Cornelia Ninova concluded: “We from “BSP for Bulgaria” a year and a half ago, we even organized a petition for a referendum to ban gender ideology in Bulgarian schools. We have collected over 200,000 signatures. Unfortunately, the referendum was unsuccessful, but that will not stop us in our fight against this truly perverted ideology among children. Therefore, I call upon you once again – let's support the changes in the School and Preschool Education Act, it will be a big step forward. And I will end again with the words: “Don't touch the children!“.
