The official Minister of Defense Atanas Zapryanov said that he was not informed about the preparation and publication of the video, with which the Information Center of the department tried to advertise the military profession and because who was the director of the center.
„On the subject of the scandalous clip – no, I am not informed. The same clip was not developed and discussed even in the management of the Information Center, and the directorate in the Ministry of Defense was not notified, Zapryanov said from the rostrum during today's parliamentary control.
He emphasized that the clip, which caused a negative public reaction, was released “without appropriate sanctions and permissions”.
The measures we took led to the release of the director of the information center, Zapryanov pointed out.
Immediately after it was posted, it was deleted from the Information Center page.
Zapryanov provided the information in response to a parliamentary question addressed to him by MPs Borislav Gutsanov and Ivan Petkov from “BSP for Bulgaria”. The formation also demanded to receive an answer to the question of why social networks have received signals that the Military TV channel has disappeared on YouTube and its unique name has been attached to a cryptocurrency video channel.
„We have daily attacks. We will improve the protection of the website of the Information Center”, explained the official minister.
Zapryanov assured that increasing public trust in the Armed Forces, as well as the prestige of the military profession, is a top priority in the information and media policy of the Ministry of Defense.
In response to another question, the Minister of Defense explained that air and rail transport is used as a priority for the military aid we send to Ukraine.
Zapryanov answered a parliamentary question addressed to him by the People's Representative from “Vazrazhdane” Zlatan Zlatanov, who asked for information on whether dangerous goods, including weapons, military equipment and explosives, pass through Ruse and the Danube Bridge, as well as how the safety of those living near the transport routes is guaranteed. The responsible minister explained that the Ministry of Defense has provided military-technical assistance to Ukraine, according to the decision of the parliament, including dangerous goods, but it is transported only by air and rail transport.
Troops and equipment of various members of the Alliance pass through our country for their participation in various exercises. The transportation of military equipment and dangerous goods concerns not only the aid to Ukraine, but the entire import and export of the Bulgarian defense industry, he recalled.
According to MP Zlatan Zlatanov, the minister's answer was “unsatisfactory and incomplete”, and he himself pointed out that he has data on land transportation of military cargo.
