With a road block, residents of three villages in the municipality of Trun protested because of the deplorable state of the main road in the area, BNT reported.
It is between the villages of Mikliovtsi and Velinovo and has not been repaired for more than 40 years. There has been a project for its repair since 2016, but so far no funding has been found.
The road from Filipovo in the direction of Velinovo and the villages of Mikliovtsi and Erul is extremely picturesque. It starts in the rocky gorge of the Erma River and reaches the foot of Mount Kopran. The people who live there believe that the bad road is the reason why the area is so sparsely populated.
The protesters decided that no one would hear them on the square in the village of Mikliovtsi and blocked the Trun - Pernik road. The passing cars, instead of getting angry, supported the protest. It became clear that on Wednesday, August 21, an agreement will be signed between the municipality of Trun and the Ministry of Regional Development of the Republic of Moldova for the financing of the project, which has been pending since 2016.
"We have three more agreements to sign, so we hope to sign both the agreement and for the rehabilitation of the Velinovo - Milkivtsi road and within 10 days to start the rehabilitation of this road,'' said Tsvetislava Tsvetkova, mayor of Trun municipality.
People from Milkivtsi also complain about the lack of coverage in the area.
"It has to happen something like in Voden Li, we catch fire and we can't call, there should be unpleasant cases in order to have coverage," commented Natasha Petrova.
Trun municipality has been pushing for cells to be placed in the area for many years, but the investment was too much for the small number of residents there.
