The Prosecutor's Office in Varna self-refers to the "blacklist" of "Vazrazhdane"

The Mayor of Varna Blagomir Kotsev came out with a position on social networks, with which he declares his support for the teachers and urges them not to be afraid

The District Prosecutor's Office in Varna is self-reporting due to the publication of a list of names of teachers who have spoken out against the changes in the Law on School and Pre-School Education for the prohibition of propaganda and popularization of non-traditional sexual orientation and determination of gender identity other than biological.

For BTA, the spokesman of the state prosecution in the seaside town, Radoslav Lazarov, indicated that the prosecutor's office had self-reported on the basis of media publications and a file had been opened. He specified that the file was randomly assigned to a supervising prosecutor, who will receive it tomorrow. He will decide how to proceed further, Lazarov explained and added that there are several possible solutions. The supervising prosecutor can appoint an inspection of the presented facts or refuse the initiation of pre-trial proceedings if he considers that there is no evidence of a crime of a general nature, said Lazarov. Another option is to send the file to the District Prosecutor's Office, if the supervising prosecutor considers that it is within her competence. At his discretion, the file can also be sent to an administrative body of competence.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Varna Blagomir Kotsev came out with a position on social networks, with which he declared his support for the teachers and called on them not to be afraid. He assures the teachers that they can count on the support of the Municipality. Kotsev points out that he is also talking to the principals of the schools in the city and expects the teachers to give him signals, even at the slightest pressure on them.
