What happens to the compensations from the state with part of the cards we issue? BGN 28 million is the accumulated liability. We actively work with the Ministry of Finance – we have sent a letter in which we have described the problem, what are our expectations for solving this problem, which is not only for Sofia, but for all municipalities. This was stated by the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality, Vasil Terziev.
Terziev noted that the Metropolitan Municipality has improved working conditions and started to solve this long-standing problem in the capital's public transport. According to him, in all aspects, urban transport shows positive indicators.
"What we wanted to happen turned out to be achievable and we were able to surpass it," he said.
The mayor of SO called on the state to listen to their common appeals and will find a lasting solution. "When you are charged with an obligation by the state, it should participate in covering these compensations," Terziev stressed.
Deputy Mayor for Transport Iliyan Pavlov noted that there are more tickets sold, or this is BGN 2.7 million more than the framework set in the budget.
"The fact that we have a 7% increase in issued cards will open a hole in the budget of BGN 28 million," he said.
