Two trucks “Mercedes” and "DAF" were burning at night in the village of Burziya, municipality of Berkovitsa. The fire started from one and spread to the other. The cabins and engine compartments of the machines were completely burnt.
This was announced by the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Montana.
In this case, pre-trial proceedings have been initiated under Article 331 of the Criminal Code, the police directorate indicated.
The trucks are owned by me and my brother Milen Tsenov, local resident Emil Tsenov told BTA. He stated that in his opinion the trucks were flying with flammable liquid and that it was a deliberate arson, not an ignition due to a technical malfunction.
The machines were used to bring down logs from the high parts of the Stara Planina above Burziya after signing contracts with logging companies. “With them, the two brothers earned a living for our families. We do not have Casco insurance, we have not received threats of suicide, said Emil Tsenov.
