A little before 9:30 this morning, one person was injured in an accident during repair work in the Auditorium of the New Bulgarian University. The man is one of the workers of the construction company with which the university has a contract to carry out the repairs. The worker was trapped by the collapsed roof of the hall.
This was announced by the NBU.
Following the call to 112, fire and emergency safety teams, emergency services and the Ministry of the Interior responded to the scene. The injured person was found conscious and was taken alive with an emergency team to Pirogov.
We have no information about other victims. Access to the scene of the accident is restricted by the authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the safety of the employees.
The university is on vacation and there is no academic process. But representatives of the management and the employees provide full assistance to the competent authorities.
