Reshuffles in the Ministry of Internal Affairs continue: The director of the GDBOP is the new Chief Secretary of the Min

The Chief Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Dimitar Kangaljiev has been dismissed from his post, and in his place Yavor Serafimov, the previous director of the GDBOP, was appointed. This happened with today's order of the Acting Minister of the Interior Atanas Ilkov and was agreed with the Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.

Until this moment, Yavor Serafimov was the director of the Main Directorate "Fighting Organized Crime", and before that he was the deputy director in the same directorate. Serafimov entered the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 1999 as an intelligence officer in the “Economy” at DNSBOP – MIA.

From 2006 to 2013, he successively held the positions of detective in the “Money Laundering” and sector “Money Laundering” to GDBOP. From 2013 to 2015, he held the managerial position of head of the "Combating crimes related to the financial system" sector. to the department “Combating crimes in the financial and credit system” at GDP – MIA.

From 2015 to 2022, he was the head of the “Money laundering and fraud with EU funds” to department 04 “Corruption and money laundering” at GDBOP - Ministry of the Interior. During his career development, he was repeatedly awarded with an announcement of gratitude and cash prizes on behalf of the Directors of NSBOP, NSP, GDKP and the Minister of Internal Affairs, and in 2022 he was awarded the “Honourary Badge of the Ministry of Internal Affairs” III degree, and in 2023 with the “Honorary Badge of the Ministry of the Interior” II degree from the Minister of Internal Affairs.

On the proposal of the Minister of the Interior Atanas Ilkov and by order of the Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, Lyubomir Yosifov was appointed to the post of Deputy Minister of the Interior. Yosifov has a master's degree in the field of "Combating crime and protection of public order". from the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He held various positions in the structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He also worked in expert positions in the Main Directorate “Implementation of Punishments” - Ministry of Justice. In recent years he has worked as a security expert in the private sector.

On the proposal of the Minister of the Interior Atanas Ilkov and by order of the Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, Stoyan Temelakiev and Hristo Stefanov were released from the position of Deputy Minister of the Interior.
