Both the last parties of the transition – DPS and BSP are leaving. This opinion was united in the “NOVA News Interview” political scientists associate professor Tatyana Burudzhieva and Georgi Kiryakov, commenting on the turmoil in the DPS and BSP during the past week.
"An internal party conflict between two extremely important figures, of course, for the DPS party, should not excite the whole society. And it shouldn't take up so much media time and be given so much attention. But for a number of reasons this happens. We need to focus, as well as the parties need to come out on this ground - on the main problems of the state. And not on the main problems of the DPS and who will prevail in the war between the "father and son", as they are called, Kiryakov commented on the tremors in the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and the war between Delyan Peevski and Ahmed Dogan. p>
"I reflected that 35 years of my life have been spent answering the question, "What is Dogan thinking? What will Dogan say?". After all, Dogan is no longer the Dogan he used to be. But for me, the more important thesis is that the DPS will never be the DPS that was the DPS of Dogan, because of whom we talked for 35 years. With that weight and representativeness," pointed out Burudzhieva.
In her words, DPS "will not be one in these elections". "And I don't even know if there will be traffic police at all. I don't know how the registration will happen. But most likely we will have other entities. The two last parties of the transition - DPS and BSP - are leaving. And we will see if they will transform, how they will develop. They are no longer the parties they were since the 1990s", Associate Professor Burudzhieva is emphatic.
According to Kiryakov "the tremors in the BSP are a completely predictable collapse". "Such as we have observed on the right with the SDS over the years. And all these parallels that have been drawn with this thing turn out to be absolutely true. It will get there somewhere, someday, if a left-wing GERB is created, if I may say so, the BSP will become a hyphen after this left-wing GERB", he commented on the tremors in the BSP.
