The Chief Inspectorate of the Council of Ministers will make a thorough inspection of the Ministry of Culture because of the scandal with draining the theaters. Inspections are also being prepared for all cultural institutions, the acting minister Nayden Todorov announced in Ruse, BNT reported.

"Let an outside inspection come to check. I am convinced that if there were problems in the ministry, they were not deliberate or malicious. Rather, it could be a matter of oversight, which should not happen... I even suspect how this idea of fraud came about, because for me it is a radically new idea. The Ministry of Culture has prioritized the payment of salaries to artists.

Everything else – overhead, activities, you name it, it's on the back burner. First to secure the wages. And someone thought that since this was a priority, money could be siphoned off and what happened was that the same amounts were released on different days. And since the people who approve are not the same person standing on the button, that's 103 cultural institutes in total. Every single one of them, imagine it, between 20 and 100 requests a day, there is no way one person can do it," explained Acting Minister of Culture Nayden Todorov.
