Former Minister of Agriculture and former MP from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) Mehmed Dikme made an in-depth analysis of the election results in an interview with the Bulgarian National Radio (BNR). He expressed surprise at the high score of DPS - New Beginning.
„I am surprised. I did not expect such a high result and I am impressed," Dikme shared.
According to the former minister, support for Ahmed Dogan's Alliance for Political Accord (APC) comes primarily from an organized vote of people who arrived from abroad with secured means of transport. He pointed out that a more detailed analysis of the sectional results reveals a trend - APS receives its main support in rural areas with a predominantly elderly population.
„The backbone of DPS is Kardzhali. If you lose Kardzhali, you have lost everything. Dogan has lost everything," Dikme stated categorically and called on Ahmed Dogan to withdraw from the political scene.
„Next time, I am convinced that it will not exceed 4%,", predicted Dikme about the future of APS. He added that the DPS electorate is beginning to show greater independence in its political preferences.
