The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria and Chairman of the National Council of the Bulgarian Socialist Party Atanas Zafirov took part in the solemn celebration of Todorovden in the Nenchov Chukar area, Zimevitsa village, Svoge municipality. The celebration, organized under the patronage of H.E. Lkhagvasuren Sayanaa – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Bulgaria, gathered hundreds of guests, including over 20 ambassadors and officials from all over the country.
The traditional horse races and the festive program proved that Bulgarian traditions remain alive and are passed down through generations.
„Todorovden is a celebration that reminds us of the strength, resilience and connection of the Bulgarian with traditions. Today we honor not only Saint Theodore Tiron, but also the centuries-old customs that make us a people with a strong spiritual foundation,“ said Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov.
In addition to honoring Saint Theodore Tiron, the holiday also coincided with International Women's Day – March 8.
“Today I express my deep respect for all Bulgarian women – for their strength, wisdom and dedication. They are the pillar of our family and society. The equal participation of women in public and political life is not just a matter of justice, but a key to the development of Bulgaria,” stressed Zafirov.
During his visit to Svoge, he held a meeting with the mayor of the municipality Emil Ivanov. The two discussed issues related to the development of the region – economic opportunities and improving the lives of local residents.
„Only with joint efforts can we build a Bulgaria in which we preserve traditions and every citizen has an equal chance for development. This can happen with support and ensuring more economic opportunities and a quality life for people“, Deputy Prime Minister Atanas Zafirov also emphasized.
