The “Zhelyazkov” cabinet survived the second vote of no confidence. Its submitters are the MECH, “Vazrazhdane” and “Velichie” parties, and the main motive was corruption. The vote was held 24 hours after the debates - after 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. 202 MPs took part in the first vote. Of these, 71 were “for” and 131 were “against”. It even came down to a re-vote. 202 MPs participated in it, with 72 "for" and 130 "against".

Earlier, GERB leader Boyko Borisov stated that he was confident about the outcome of the vote.

„June 4 turns out to be a very important date - the convergence report will be released then. According to Eurostat, we meet the inflation criteria. Nothing can divert me from the path of getting us into the eurozone. The benchmarks ahead are very clear for us - the euro, the EMU, the fight against corruption, the bills that must be adopted. We are so focused on these topics that nothing can divert us. I thanked the PP-DB for not joining in supporting the vote. After supporting the eurozone, they cannot act with "Vazrazhdane", MECH and "Velicie", he said.

It is precisely because of the eurozone that the PP-DB announced that they would not support the vote, but after the report they will submit their own.

„The question is not whether a vote of no confidence should be held on the topic of "Fighting corruption", but when. In fact, Bulgaria's entry into the eurozone is one of the strongest anti-corruption things the country can do“, pointed out PP-DB MP Venko Sabrutev.

“Let them submit and explain to their Euro-Atlantic partners, go to the European ambassadors at the embassy and say that they want to overthrow the GERB government“, replied Borisov.

The cabinet has categorical support from “DPS-New Beginning“.

“I support the government doing good things for the people. We in the cabinet are not participating and will not participate. We want them to work for the people“, was categorical the leader of the formation Delyan Peevski.
