Attempts to misinterpret every problem related to the new military equipment will not stop, not only in the Air Force.

This opinion was expressed to the Bulgarian National Radio by former Minister of Defense Angel Naydenov in connection with the case of the technical failure of the F-16 fighter jet, which is about to be adopted into service in the Bulgarian army.

According to him, there was an overreaction:

"I will not question the need for the involvement of parliamentary committees, but it seems to me that this was an overreaction, somewhat hasty and based on unsubstantiated suspicions and doubts about sabotage or the action of a so-called active cell of the Russian intelligence services. I do not expect anything substantial as a result of the hearing in the parliamentary committee after the explanations already made by the Minister of Defense and the Air Force Command".
In the program "Something More" Angel Naydenov also commented on the topic of marking the anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe and in Russia, emphasizing that May 9 is increasingly becoming a symbol of political division - Europe Day or Victory Day:

"After the start of the war in Ukraine, the parade in Moscow is not just a celebration, but a tool for internal propaganda of Vladimir Putin and a demonstration of external support, i.e. a demonstration of breaking the isolation in which both Russia and the Russian president were placed. ... A formal reason such as the time difference becomes a serious reason for opposition. It was not always like this. This division is also reproduced in societies, among people. In the background remain the horrors of war and the memories of the dead, as well as the price of victory, and in the foreground come the bloc affiliation, modern coalitions and new friendships. The attitude towards the dates of May 8th and 9th is also projected onto the attitude towards the geopolitical orientation of Bulgaria. The dilemma of Victory Day or Europe Day, it seems to me, will continue in the future.
Without the participation of Ukraine and Europe, a truce or an end to the war cannot be reached, the former defense minister believes.

According to him, what Putin stated in a propaganda film broadcast on Russian state television is grossly manipulative and unacceptable:

"These are also part of the attempts to remove responsibility for the aggression in Ukraine from Russia and to shift it in other directions"
