The Ministry of Transport is taking measures against railway accidents. After a series of incidents, they are today presenting changes for greater safety in railway transport, reports bTV.
The ministry reports that in 6 months, incidents have decreased from 129 to 74. By order of the minister, all employees of NRIC and BDZ must strictly comply with safety measures. However, there are employees who allowed themselves to run red lights. As a result, there are disciplinary sanctions and dismissals.
In order to avoid collisions, such as we have seen between trains, the integration of a GPS system is currently underway, which will show in real time where the train is and at what speed it is moving.
„By the end of April, cameras were installed at 52 stations, at 11 railway stops. Orders have been announced for the purchase of cameras for another 162 stations. Recording will be made both in the locomotive and in front - what is happening in front of the locomotive. Three locomotives have already been equipped“, pointed out the Minister of Transport Grozdan Karadjov.
Locomotives are also being replaced as a measure to counter fires.
