We will not accept Boyko Borisov's offer and support his budget in exchange for GERB support for Sofia - there must be a principled approach, not Anatolian alash-verish. This was stated by the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” Bozhidar Bozhanov on the sidelines of the National Assembly.
“Over the years, Boyko Borisov has become the main broker of the alash-verish between the central and local authorities. This is not the European way of governing Bulgaria and it is high time it stopped. “Democratic Bulgaria” will not participate in Borisov's Anatolian alash-verish, who is trying to keep local authorities at the expense of the central budget”, Bozhanov was categorical. He added that Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev was elected by Sofia residents, not by the GERB leader, who is trying to punish them for their vote.
The co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria” Ivaylo Mirchev emphasized that with his appeal to the State Duma to support the budget in the year Boyko Borisov is inciting the formation to commit crime, robbery and looting in Sofia.
“What is Borisov's appeal? You see how Delyan Peevski is photographed with mayors all over the country - they come, kiss his hand, kiss his ring, because otherwise no one will lend them money. If any of these mayors does not agree to kiss Peevski's hand, punishments will follow. This is Borisov and Peevski's plan to take over the entire country," Mirchev specified, hinting that at the end of this week it is possible that the services and the prosecutor's office will "discover" a crime in the work of a mayor who does not obey GERB and MRF.
Mirchev emphasized that if Boyko Borisov really wanted Sofia residents to have a normal budget and government, he should have given some indications in this direction. Instead, GERB, BSP, ITN, Carlos Contrera and breakaways from "Vazrazhdane" constitute an economic majority in the Sofia Municipal Council, behind which the interests of Taki, Orlin Alexiev, Krasyo Cherniya and Delyan Peevski are visible.
“We will not participate in the robbery of Sofia and Mayor Vasil Terziev will not succumb to pressure from Borisov, Peevski or anyone else”, Mirchev vowed.
“Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria” MP Yordan Ivanov accused GERB of once again saving MPs from “Vazrazhdane” from having their immunity lifted due to the attack and arson on the House of Europe in Sofia three months ago.
“Today's vote depended on the votes of GERB, which systematically behaves as a sister party to “Vazrazhdane”. With these actions, Borisov's people are stimulating the anti-European speech and behavior of Kostadinov and his subordinates. I call on GERB, the next time the same request is submitted, to support the lifting of the immunities of the deputies from "Vazrazhdane", Ivanov concluded.
