On the one hand, the search for attention and something that will build their identity, but on the other hand - testing the boundaries. There is no way to take a measure from today to tomorrow to give them what they need. The optimal option is the involvement of all institutions. This is how psychologist Prof. Margarita Bakracheva explained on bTV the reasons for the increased attacks by the so-called "local".
„Even if they are not violent by nature, there is a great risk that they will become so. And the parents themselves sometimes say that they need help and cannot cope“, she explained.
In her words, these young people can change, as long as their needs are met, they receive attention and support.
When asked how parents can recognize whether their child is aggressive, Prof. Bakracheva specified: “There are signs, but if they are not visible, the reasons may be in the parents' insecurity and concern and the lack of communication. Practice shows that the conversation with young people should not be from the door yet, but should be a 15-20 minute spontaneous conversation while we are doing something – a casual form that leads to sharing and a sense of understanding.“
Asked about the introduction of the subject “Virtues and Religions“ and its effectiveness, she believes: “The question is how the content is presented. It has to be something attractive.“
As reasons for this aggression among young people, she pointed to the lack of meaning, guarantee and security in any area, as well as the general lack of values and the typical opposition of “for“ and “against“ in public discourse.
