Karakachanov: Brussels sabotages Trump's attempts to reach peace in Ukraine because it isolates Europe

The initial version of the Cyrillic alphabet is an order of the Bulgarian state. So May 24 is not the Day of the Slavic Alphabet, said in the NOVA NEWS studio former Defense Minister Krasimir Karakachanov.

"The Bulgarian rulers Prince Boris and Tsar Simeon made the alphabet in the Bulgarian capital and in the cultural center Ohrid for the needs of the state. The initial version of the Cyrillic alphabet is an order of the Bulgarian state. So May 24 is not the Day of the Slavic Alphabet. It is Bulgarian, but adopted by other peoples as well, about 300 million people write in it today. This is a merit of Bulgarian history. I recall that in 2020 VMRO proposed to introduce the names of the Bulgarian alphabet, writing and culture. They wanted us to withdraw the proposal so as not to quarrel with Russia. But this is not shameful, but worthy of gratitude", commented Karakachanov.

"Bulgaria does not have a national policy for RS Macedonia and as a result the Skopje authorities believe that they can crush the Bulgarian language there with brute force. Georgievski is one of the people who did not bend, did not flee. In Bulgaria there is already an organization of the new political emigration from Macedonia. They left the country due to harassment. Georgievski is staying there and did not come for the celebrations on May 24 so as not to be accused of fleeing. In the case in which he is accused of inciting ethnic tension, Skopje will most likely give him a suspended sentence. But a second case is also being prosecuted against him - for interethnic hatred. And according to it, if a suspended sentence is imposed again, when they are cumulated, it will be effective. And Bulgaria does not have any," said the former Minister of Defense.

"The United States is isolating Europe from the entire process of achieving peace, and this is not liked. That is why European leaders are trying to sabotage them," Karakachanov believes.
