The state has the will and has the necessary mechanisms for the smooth and smooth introduction of the euro, said Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov at a forum dedicated to the introduction of the single currency, the press service of the cabinet reported.
It is important to dispel people's fears, of businesses in small settlements, related to three things - income, savings and expenses, Zhelyazkov also said at the forum organized by the Sofia Regional Administration.
The Prime Minister emphasized the benefits for the Bulgarian economy from adopting the euro. At the same time, he noted that the introduction of the single European currency in itself should not lead to an increase in prices.
The reason for introducing the euro is not a reason, other things being equal, for there to be an increase or speculation on this topic, said Rosen Zhelyazkov. The Prime Minister was categorical that there is no reason for people to start panicking and called on not to succumb to attempts at manipulation.
The Prime Minister also noted that a number of channels for communication with citizens are provided within the framework of the information campaign, so that they receive timely and complete information about the introduction of the euro.
Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov stated the state's determination to counteract attempts at speculation. The focus of attention will be on essential goods and services. Regulated prices, in turn, are monitored very carefully by regulators.
With regard to energy, Zhelyazkov highlighted the importance of diversification, as well as energy infrastructure, which will allow for a better single energy market in Europe.
Later today, the Prime Minister will sign memorandums of cooperation with employers', trade union and industry organizations and associations in connection with consumer protection in the process of introducing the euro in Bulgaria.
The initiative for signing the memorandums is the government's, with the aim of establishing a sustainable framework for partnership, cooperation and coordinated actions in the context of the preparation and implementation of the process of introducing the single European currency in Bulgaria in the interests of stability, predictability and public trust, as well as preventing unfair trade practices and unjustified increases in the prices of goods and services.
