Assen Vassilev: The mayors of "Lyulin" and "Mladost" should come up with real information. It doesn't help to speak in half-truths

Because we will not allow the name of the PP to be inserted into anything other than a strong anti-corruption promise. Assen Vassilev and I stand firmly against such behavior and will react immediately, emphasized Kiril Petkov

Today we watched the press conference of the two district mayors and the two municipal councilors from the “Continuing the Change“ (PP) and first of all we want to call on them to provide all possible information to the Bulgarian prosecutor's office and the anti-corruption commission. This was stated at a briefing in the parliament building by the co-chairman of the PP Kiril Petkov, quoted by novini.bg.

According to Petkov, whatever information is submitted to two institutions, they will not “regret“ no one from the PP.
The former prime minister reminded that the party has zero tolerance for corruption, which is why he appealed to all bodies, members and municipal councilors to send information to the PP's control bodies.

Because we will not allow the PP's name to be involved in anything other than a strong anti-corruption promise. Asen Vassilev and I stand firmly against such behavior and will react immediately, Kiril Petkov emphasized.

He added that he hopes that what happened will not remain in the “gray zone“ and in the misunderstandings and once again called for the provision of all information to the competent institutions and the party's control bodies.
For his part, Asen Vassilev announced that they had conducted an inspection of what the public procurements in “Lyulin“ were and “Mladost“.

“A quick check showed that all public procurements were placed at the lowest price, respectively, the company that gave the lowest price should win. And here my appeal to the two district mayors is, if someone made them place orders not at the lowest price, to say who that person is. Because from the PP we have always fought for all public procurements to be at the lowest price, because then the criterion is objective and there can be no rigged things“, explained Asen Vassilev.

When asked whether anyone from the party leadership had tried to save a deputy mayor in the capital's “Lyulin” district, as allegations were made earlier today at the press conference of the two mayors who left the party, Asen Vassilev replied that it is not the party's job to staff the team of one or another mayor.

“We would believe them if they came up with real information and submitted it not to us, but to the relevant competent authorities. "I would not like to comment on rumors," he added, insisting that speaking in silence does not help anyone.

The PP announced that they will convene their Executive Council tomorrow to identify measures.
