Because of our audacity not to trample on our principles in the name of a few party leaders and their well-being - a muddy mess is coming to our address, the mayor of the "Mladost" district Ivaylo Kukurin wrote on his Facebook page, quoted by "Focus".

We have received information that the leadership of "We continue the change" efforts have been activated to prepare a smear campaign against us – the four of us (Me - Ivaylo Kukurin - Mayor of the "Mladost" district, Georgi Todorov - Mayor of the "Lyulin" district, as well as municipal councilors Dragomir Ivanov and Dimitar Shalafov), who stated our position openly and honestly to the public.
The alleged attack will also be directed against other individuals associated with the PP - including those who in the past disagreed with the leadership, had their own opinion and those who are bitter and disappointed by the events of recent days and have left. The goal is clear: to smear dissenters - a strategy that is already fully recognizable and underway.
- We did not start a mud campaign, respected leaders of the PP.
- We told the truth - clearly and with reason.
- The truth, even when it hurts.
- It hurts us too, especially when you realize that you have invested effort, time and trust in a cause that has been replaced.
- It hurts when "change" turns into replacement.
But it hurts even more when you see that instead of taking responsibility, pseudo enemies are being sought. We believe that the pain, bitterness and disappointment are shared by many - both in Sofia and in the country. If someone believes that they will make us silent with compromising material, insults or attacks - they are mistaken.
The truth cannot be covered with mud. It always comes out. And we will tell it - to the end.
We told it publicly because there was no internal reaction, and in parallel with this the pressure was increasing. We are aware that the path we took will not be easy. But between the easy path of silence and the difficult path of holding our heads high, we have no hesitation.
We call on the leadership of the PP not to look for enemies in order to cover up their own failure.
The deputy mayor of Sofia is not "one of all deputy mayors" - he is the only PP representative in the mayor's team.
We have no doubt that his candidacy was approved at the highest level. We express serious doubts that he acted in a self-organizing manner - doubts that are already confirmed by the recordings that the entire society heard.
The picture is now crystal clear.
The mud cannot cover up the management failure and the internal party chaos.
