The parliamentary group of the DRF-DPS is renamed to "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms"

The change will be entered in the public register

The name of the parliamentary group "Democracy, Rights and Freedoms" - DRF is changing from today to the PG "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms", in view of the decision of 11.09.2024 of the CEC for registration in the elections for members of parliament on October 27 this year. The change will be entered in the public register, announced at the beginning of today's plenary session by the Speaker of the National Assembly Natalia Kiselova.

On June 19, the parliament adopted changes to the Rules of Procedure for the Organization and Activities of the National Assembly (NA), related to the names of the parliamentary groups. According to them, the name or abbreviation of a parliamentary group will no longer be able to repeat the name or abbreviation of another parliamentary group, as well as of a political party or coalition of parties registered with the Central Election Commission for participation in the last elections for members of parliament, including by adding words, letters, digits, numbers or other signs to them.

The group whose name or abbreviation does not comply with the requirements of the new provision must change its name within three days of the decision coming into force. If, after the expiration of the term, the name or abbreviation is not brought into line with the new requirement, the name of the political party or coalition of parties, as registered with the CEC for participation in the last parliamentary elections, shall be entered.

The deputies also included an additional item on their agenda - the second reading of amendments to the Civil Procedure Code.

The agenda also includes an Annual Work Program of the National Assembly on European Union issues, as well as regular parliamentary control.
