The Ministry of Agriculture and Food has agreed to an increase of 30,000,000 euros under the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, directed to the budget under the procedure “Investments in Technological and Environmental Modernization“. The procedure is part of the investment “Fund for Promoting the Technological and Environmental Transition of Agriculture“, component “Sustainable Agriculture“ from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).

This is the result of successful negotiations with the European Commission services during the NRP amendment process.

The additional funds were provided by the cancelled implementation of the “Effective Water Management in Agricultural Holdings” strand.

The additional support provided will allow the financing of part of the approved IIPs (investment proposals) from the reserve list, ranked in order of prioritization, in accordance with the evaluation methodology in the Conditions for Application.

In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development also agreed to extend the deadline for the implementation of the RRP contracts - no later than 31 March 2026.

The Council of the European Union is to review and approve the European Commission’s assessment within four weeks.

In accordance with the applicable regulatory requirements, as well as in connection with the new changes, the Ministry will publish an amendment to the Guidelines for applying under the procedure “Investments in technological and environmental modernization“ for public discussion.

Within this period, the State Fund “Agriculture“ will send notification letters to the relevant applicants, in order to timely carry out the necessary checks before concluding administrative contracts under the procedure.

The contracts will be signed after issuing the order of the Minister of Agriculture and Food approving the amendment to the Guidelines, after the completion of the public consultations.
