A decisive week for Bulgaria, which is on the verge of a historic change. Tomorrow, the vote in the European Parliament is coming up, which will send the lev into history.

As part of the eurozone, payments in our country will be made in euros from the beginning of next year. We remind you that in small settlements where there are no bank branches, the exchange of levs will take place in post offices.

Liliyana Dragoeva, Director of the Regional Department of "Bulgarian Posts" in the Southeastern Region: "With Decree 502 of July last year, the Council of Ministers assigned "Bulgarian Posts" to perform a service of general economic interest, namely to participate in the process of exchanging Bulgarian levs into euros.

According to the national plan for the introduction of the euro and the Law on the Introduction of the Euro, "Bulgarian Posts" will begin exchanging euros from the date of our admission as a member state of the euro area.

We will exchange euros in 2230 post offices on the territory of the country in settlements where there are no offices and branches of banks and banking institutions. Up to 1000 levs can be exchanged per day for one person, and for amounts ranging from 1000 to 10,000 levs, a preliminary application can be submitted at certain stations, which will be executed by "Bulgarian Posts" within 3 working days.

During the first 6 months the service will be free for citizens, I hope the process will go smoothly and we will be at the service of citizens".
