The Anti-Corruption Commission is working on an operation in Varna. The actions are under the supervision of the Sofia City Prosecutor's Office, the state prosecution announced.

A preliminary court order has been issued for the investigators' actions.

More details on the investigation are expected to be released on Wednesday.

PP-DB MP Bogdan Bogdanov wrote on his Facebook profile that the operation was in the municipality of the seaside city and that "Mayor Kotsev was detained".

Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev from „Continuing the Change“ was taken for questioning today, July 8, after officers of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) entered the municipality, Actualno.com learned from its sources.

The Anti-Corruption Commission is searching the apartment of the mayor of the seaside capital. The leader of "We Continue the Change" Asen Vassilev will make an extraordinary inclusion. So far, the information has been commented on Facebook by the MP from "Velichy" Krasimira Katincharova and our former ambassador to Moscow Iliyan Vassilev.

"The ACC just entered the municipality of Varna and arrested the mayor Blagomir Kotsev", claims Katincharova, but the information about the arrest has not been confirmed. "They are currently searching his home as well. Is it likely that this is part of Peevski and Borisov's action to completely take over the state?", the MP asks in his Facebook post.

"One to one Erdogan's steps in Turkey. Arrests opposition mayors and accuses them of corruption", Iliyan Vassilev makes an analogy.

A few minutes ago, the leader of DSB and Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of Bulgaria. Atanas Atanasov also commented on the news on the social network “Facebook“. “I see that there is still no news. I call on the GERB press center to report what is happening in the municipality of Varna“, wrote the chairman of the Commission for Control over the Security Services.

I don't know about this! Borisov replied during the briefing on the official admission of Bulgaria to the eurozone. “Boyko is to blame for everything that happens in Bulgaria!“, added the GERB leader.
