The Tsalapitsa landfill has caught fire. The fire broke out at around 5:30 p.m. This was reported to NOVA by the Plovdiv municipality.

The officers on duty from the “Municipal Security” immediately filed a signal, to which the Regional Directorate “Fire Safety and Population Protection” under the leadership of Senior Commissioner Vasil Dimov responded immediately. 4 fire trucks were sent to the scene, which have already brought the fire under control. At the insistence of the Mayor of Plovdiv Kostadin Dimitrov, companies are involved with heavy equipment to extinguish the area. Water carriers of the OP "Cleanliness" are also on site, announced the Deputy Mayor for Ecology Ivan Stoyanov, who went to the site.

The RDPBZN mobile station has already taken measurements, and no increases in PM in the air have been recorded.
