Andrey Raichev: I feel sorry for the wasted energy of 2020

Maybe it's time for PP-DB to think about it, they are wrong, said the sociologist

The way to actually fall this government is to remove the majority. Given that the former "DPS-DPS" has been replaced by DPS "New Beginning". The only chance is for either ITN or BSP to leave the majority, for which there are no symptoms.

This was stated by sociologist Andrey Raichev to FOCUS.

According to him, the vote of confidence is now practically safe in September, since we have already been accepted into the eurozone. The opposition is now becoming more active because it did not want to hinder Bulgaria on its path to the euro.

"The pleasant oppositions are the weak oppositions – they talk to each other, the others govern. But I feel most sorry for the wasted energy. All this started in 2020 with a brilliant formula, of which Kiril Petkov and Asen Vassilev were the authors. They managed to unite the left and right against the center and seize power," claims Raichev.

He assessed the PP - DB's focus on the judiciary as a distinctive feature that has suffered a series of losses over the last 5 years. "It led them to an alliance with Peevski, with a government with a foreign mandate, which they did for some time, initially with Prime Minister Denkov," said Raichev.

"They hit the same rock so many times that maybe it's time for them to think that they are wrong. And here I am not defending in any way the outrageous state of the judicial system in Bulgaria, here I am saying that their approach to create some kind of structural form that would solve the issue has failed repeatedly," added the sociologist. He assessed Kiril Petkov's resignation as an honest, but not effective act.

"The city right is not Kiril Petkov, Hristo Ivanov or Asen Vassilev. What "PP - DB" must realize is that they have no option to solve the issues themselves and they need long-term principled alliances. Nothing like that is being talked about. Their leaders are talking about what would happen if they took power, but they will not take power because they do not have enough electorate," concluded Raichev.
