Two protests in front of the "Maichin Dom" will be held today - the first in defense of Antonia Andonova, and the other in support of Dr. Irena Shikova, BNT reports. The reason for the two actions is the young mother's signal from days ago about violence and rough treatment during her birth at the "Maichin Dom".
Andonova's relatives are calling on other victims of Dr. Irena Shikova to contact them in order to file a joint lawsuit for the deprivation of her medical rights. Dr. Shikova denied the accusations of rough treatment, including that she slapped during childbirth.
The obstetrician-gynecologist from "Maichin Dom" also announced that she was resigning from her post while the investigation into the case by the Executive Agency "Medical Supervision" is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the heads of leading obstetrician-gynecological structures in the country sent an open letter to the media, in which they expressed full support for their colleagues from "Maichin Dom".
