We can talk about elections when there is a political alternative, and there is none at the moment, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov told journalists. The Prime Minister visited the 24th air base “Krumovo“, where he checked the readiness of the Armed Forces to respond to fires and other disaster situations, in front of BTA.

When asked by a journalist whether elections are expected in the context of the case with the mayor of Varna, Zhelyazkov replied that he sees no connection in a political aspect with this.

The Prime Minister commented that the BG-Alert early warning system is working, but 67 municipalities still need to undergo training. The regional governors managed to complete the training within two days and, as you can see, in many cases where there is early warning and prevention through the system, people are prepared and the preventive activities are very successful and effective, said Zhelyazkov.

He called on the mayors of these 67 municipalities "to be so kind as to join the training, because this is for the health and property of the people in their municipalities." The Prime Minister indicated that this was an invitation from him. He added that they would then look for other forms in which to stimulate their desire to be part of BG-Alert.
