A new signal about the dangerous predator on the territory of the "Shumen Plateau" Nature Park has been received by the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Shumen. This was reported by the Deputy Director Commissioner Plamen Todorov and the Head of the Regional Directorate in Shumen Chief Inspector Iliyan Nikolov at a meeting of the temporary crisis headquarters, the regional administration reported to the Bulgarian National Radio.
The animal was spotted this night in a well-lit area of the steps at the foot of the "Creators of the Bulgarian State" monument near the "Chupkata" . The report was filed by two people who saw the big cat at 02:50 that night and felt threatened.
The meeting was attended by the regional governor Katya Ivanova, deputy regional governor Diyan Dimitrov, the director of the Regional Directorate of Forests Eng. Emil Gelov, the director of the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water Stella Ilieva, the secretary of the Shumen Municipality Hristo Pavlov, the director of the Shumen Plateau Nature Park Krasimir Hristov and a representative of the Northeastern State Enterprise.
The representatives of all institutions appeal to all citizens of Shumen to be extremely careful and to avoid visiting the territory of the Shumen Plateau Nature Park during the dark part of the day.
The relevant ministries will again be informed about the situation. Upon receipt of a new confirmed signal, the public will be informed in a timely manner.
