Nikolay Popov, the father of 12-year-old Siyana, who died in an accident near the village of Telish, extended an invitation to German Ambassador Irene Maria Plank to also attend the cases of dead Bulgarian children. The comment comes as a reaction to the diplomat's presence at yesterday's protest in Sofia.

"The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany Irene Maria Plank is also welcome at the cases of Siyana, Philip, Bozhidara and all Bulgarian children killed on the road. Will there be time?" Popov wrote on the social network Facebook.

Siyana's father's comment is related to the presence of the German ambassador at the protest in Sofia yesterday evening. Irene Maria Plank was spotted in front of the Courthouse in the capital during the demonstration against the detention of Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev.

The presence of the foreign diplomat caused an official reaction from the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on diplomats to show "professional sensitivity to domestic political processes" and to avoid "instrumentalization for domestic political purposes".

Nikolai Popov has repeatedly expressed critical positions regarding the judicial system and the work of the institutions. A few days ago, he thanked the Chief Prosecutor Borislav Sarafov and the team of investigators for the "perfect work" in the case of his daughter's death.

At the same time, Siyana's father emphasized that "any political interference in the work of the judicial system is harmful and dangerous" and that "the job of political forces is to determine the legal framework for the activities of the court and the prosecutor's office, not to interfere in their work".
