The rain has reduced the intensity of the fire in the Sandanski village of Gorno Spanchevo, BNT reported.
The rain that poured down in Southwestern Bulgaria has limited the fire, which nearly 50 people fought in the forest above the village of Gorno Spanchevo for the second day. Today, forest officials and firefighters will go around the area to extinguish the remaining fires that are still smoldering in places.
The heavy rain in the Southwest also helped to extinguish the remaining fires in the "Rila Monastery" nature park and near Mursalevo.
