Folk singer Debora has been released under house arrest. The Burgas District Court reviewed her detention order today. After causing an accident on the Pomorie - "Sunny Beach" road, the police found that Debora Ivanova was driving with over 3 per mille of alcohol in her blood.
The singer's lawyers requested that the measure be considered behind closed doors due to the disclosure of medical data about the health status of her 6-year-old son. The child was in the back seat of the singer's car during the accident.
"She can't hide if her child has such problems as are reflected in the medical documentation. There is no way this child can be abandoned so that she can go somewhere abroad. There is no evidence of such irregularities, no financial means to do so, no evidence of wealthy relatives she could go to," Deborah's lawyer Plamen Naydenov explained to Nova TV.
On July 11, Deborah was permanently remanded in custody. This is the third time she has been caught driving while intoxicated. The first time was in 2016, the second - in 2024.
