A little before 8 am, a bTV team left Sofia for Greece – border crossing “Kulata“.

The traffic on the highway from Sofia to Dupnitsa is calm in both directions.

At the next turnoff, we meet Petrana Andreeva, who is going to Greece for the first time with her family on vacation.

“We didn't think about whether it would be a good idea to leave on Saturday, we even expected there to be traffic, but so far it's fine. It wouldn't bother us now, we're going to the seaside. It would make us nervous when we return“, says the woman.

As an international driver, her husband Milcho Andreev says that the most important thing on the road is patience.

„When we go, then. We are not in a hurry, the sea will not run away. It is there. Whether we are there at 12 o'clock or in the afternoon at 2-3 o'clock, it does not matter“, says the driver.

We reach the Kresna Gorge in an hour and a half. From there, the traffic is already heavy, the movement is slower, because the road passes through the town of Kresna. There is also a pedestrian path with a traffic light.

„A ring road should be built around Kresna to avoid this, but when it will happen, we do not know. The traffic is simply very heavy. The infrastructure is simply not designed for this traffic. "Both cars and trucks," commented a driver.
