The head of the KPK should come out and say if he is meeting with Delyan Peevski, said Ivaylo Mirchev

„We will protest until the battle for the normalization of Bulgaria is won. We are entering the eurozone, but we have not completed the most important thing - democracy in our country. And that is why we continue to be the least wealthy country in the EU“, said on „This Sunday“ on bTV, the co-chairman of „Yes, Bulgaria“ Ivaylo Mirchev.

„These protests arose because people very clearly saw that Peevski and his cronies Boyko Borisov were selectively hitting opposition politicians. They saw that the institutions in Bulgaria are being used only for this purpose“, Mirchev also said.

According to him, what is happening is deliberate and is a clear action by Delyan Peevski in relation to the opposition.

“The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has a list of 88 PP-DB mayors who are ready for battle. Our key mayor is missing there – that of “Slatina“ Georgi Iliev, since they most likely made the list at the time he was campaigning“, Mirchev said.

He also expects an attack on the capital's mayor Vasil Terziev, since he proposed changing the servicing bank of Sofia.

“We are talking about 3 billion leva. The previous institution was clearly connected to businessmen in Delyan Peevski's orbit. Now the Sofia Municipality wants to take offers from the five largest Bulgarian banks, which is logical“, explained the co-chairman of “Yes, Bulgaria“.

“The head of the CPC should come out and say whether he is meeting with Delyan Peevski and whether he has telephone conversations with him, because this is very worrying. Peevski has been very clearly indicated by the US and the UK and has been implicated in corrupt practices. If he is in constant communication with the head of the CPC, Anton Slavchev, who is about to be re-elected, this speaks volumes about what a bat the CPC has become“, said Ivaylo Mirchev.

That is why “Yes, Bulgaria” insists that this commission be closed.

“There are enough institutions to fight corruption in Bulgaria. There is no need for Peevski's right hand to grow longer and hold a bat in itself. He has another club - Sarafov. With the CPC, the clubs become one more“, he also said.

According to him, this commission does not counteract corruption, but increases it, because it works in two directions. On the one hand, it hits mayors, and on the other - it sends congratulations with information that they are being investigated.

„For example, the mayors of Ahmed Dogan's MRF - all have been sent congratulations. Those who do not stand by Peevski, the CPC enters them“, said the co-chairman of „Yes, Bulgaria“.

Mirchev said that they will request a vote of no confidence in September at the earliest.

„Delyan Peevski is a coward. He constantly moves around with security. Together with Boyko Borisov, they enter the National Assembly with a huge escort from the NSO. Until recently, Peevski was protected by berets and private security. Then he goes to the National Assembly and says that he understands the people and cares about them. In fact, he doesn't see them, he's in Dubai most of the time. He has no idea what the people want," Ivaylo Mirchev pointed out.

According to him, Peevski supports GERB, but not everyone there has understood that Boyko Borisov's fate will be the same as Ahmed Dogan's.
