Without a clear decision on the exact mechanism by which minimum salaries for doctors will be ensured, the meeting of the extraordinary health committee ended today. It considered 4 different bills - by GERB, “Ima takvi narod“ and BSP, by PP-DB, “Vazrazhdane“ and by “Velicie“, bTV reported.
The proposal by “Velicie“, which included a net salary of 6,000 leva for a doctor and 4,000 for a nurse, was rejected.
The bills by PP-DB and “Vazrazhdane“ propose that the minimum wages be a percentage of the average for the country, as are the demands of the protesting doctors.
The ruling majority's proposal is that the remuneration be tied to the collective labor agreement – against which the young doctors are categorically against.
The proposals will also be considered in the hall, and if all three are adopted there too – on second reading, the health committee will seek a version for a general bill.
